Starting summer of 2016 TopSpeed will be offering a Youth Athlete Development Class. The class will be led by former Kansas Jayhawks basketball star KC Hilgenkamp.
According to work by Dr. Avery Faigenbaum, and echoed by Hall of Fame strength coach Al Vermeil, waiting until high school age to begin strength training may be too late and lessen an athlete’s ability to ever reach their full potential.
The class will focus on fundamental movements of strength training which lay the groundwork for higher levels of speed and agility to be expressed on the field/court/diamond/etc.
Class size is limited, workouts will last approximately 45
minutes and are open to youth-athletes who are 6-12 years of age that show
adequate emotional maturity and ability to follow directions.
